Young people are the future of groundwater science and industry. Those currently in the field will be well served by the encouragement they give to future groundwater professionals.
Realizing this, the National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation has launched a campaign to raise more than $1,500,000 for educational initiatives.
The drive is being directed to NGWA members, corporations, and foundations around the country. The funds raised will also help support the Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecture Series in Ground Water Science Fund, the McEllhiney Distinguished Lecture Series in Water Well Technology Fund, the Ground Water Research Fund, the Developing World Fund, and the 21st Century Fund, an expanded endowment that will provide the following additional benefits.
-
The Foundation will be enabled to initiate a grant-making program to associations and organizations that can help advance the understanding of groundwater.
-
Grants will be able to be made to selected groundwater professionals from all walks of the workforce to allow them to collaborate with colleagues on cutting-edge projects.
-
Groundwater's international role will be enhanced, particularly in developing countries where severe water crises exist.
