For Manufacturers and Suppliers

Certified Sales Professional

The Certified Sales Professional designation was specifically intended for supplier and manufacturer owners, operators, and employees. Those who have earned the CSP designation have demonstrated their commitment to enhancing industry professionalism and providing good customer service.

As of September 2018, the CSP program has been closed to new applicants. Those individuals who have earned and maintained their certification through 2018 may continue to represent themselves as CSPs, however, the examinations and applications have been discontinued.

Eligibility

Those holding the CSP designation have met the following requirements:

  • Certificants are at least 21 years of age
  • Certificants have 24 consecutive months of employment specific to water systems and/or drilling operations
  • Certificants have passed at least one 50-question multiple-choice exam
  • Certificants have submitted a CSP application within 12 months of passing their exam.

A list of CSPs is available in the Directory of NGWA Certified Professionals.

Exam information

To have earned the CSP designation, manufacturers and suppliers must have passed one 50-question, multiple-choice exam with a score of 70 percent or better. NGWA previously offered two different CSP exams: CSP Drilling Exam and CSP Water Systems Exam.

Passing one of them qualified for a CSP-I designation; passing both qualified for a CSP-II designation. The exams focused on key troubleshooting knowledge and skills related to drilling operations and water systems.
